Local Business Marketing Techniques For Today vs. Yesterday ...

Strategies for getting your product noticed by customers have changed drastically in the past decade.?

We used the Yellow Pages.? Now there?s an App for that.?

We used print media.? Now there?s an App for that.?

We used television and radio. ?Guess what? ?

There?s an App for that too!?

It is even possible for your local business to have an App of its own.? The point is, there are multitudes of technologies out there waiting for your local business to harness their marketing potential.?

The fact is, how we interact with each other has changed monumentally, and this is also true for the way we get our information and products.? Connecting to friends, family, and even your local business, has become easier than ever.?

The Internet and technologies like social media have made everything in the world easy to reach, and is making other forms of communication and marketing obsolete.

And though we recommend you begin marketing close to home for a local business, the fact is, it?s not your only option anymore. The success and popularity of the Internet has opened a global economy, where the possibilities for marketing your local business seem boundless.?

If you are not taking advantage of this tool?the World Wide Web?you and your business have not reached their full potential.

Start with a Local Business web page.

You should start with a web page that?s optimized. This is your online ?home base? and allows people to find you via search engines.

Also, once you have a website, then you can link to all of your locations on the web, including social media, your local business blog, online directories, or on sister websites and blogs to allow direct access to your local business via the internet.

Don?t forget about email marketing.

An email blast is also a popular way to reach a broad audience.? Be sure that you are targeting the right groups of people to maximize your profits, and do NOT spam. It?s also nice if you can add a personal touch, such as a name, to an email.?

Tap into the power of Social Media.

Marketing through social media allows you to market and analyze your local business success, as well.? For instance, you can continuously monitor how many people are looking at you site and how much time they spend there.? You can also see what people are looking for.?

This is important, as you may need to change or broaden the product of your local business depending on current consumer demands.? Also, changing your ads can help you to target those looking for particular items or services.? Creating a Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn page for your business is a good way to let locals know about specials, sales, new services, etc.?

The possibilities are endless.

I?m not saying you should completely stop using print, television, radio, etc. to advertise you local business, as there?s still a time and place for it.? Using the Internet is simply another form of advertising, but one that can get you faster and greater results in most instances with just the click of a mouse.?
